I just bought a new Road King (2006) and have about 850 miles on it. There seems to be a problem of it cutting out when doing a full throttle take off. I've tried it a couple of times and it fills like one of the cylinders is cutting out. Anybody else had any trouble with a new bike like this?

Gary-

I bought the Street Bob in January and I'm having what sounds like very similar problems despite the difference in HD models. Although our engines and carburetors are the same the problem may in fact be the same as well. I've tried changing the air filter, looking at the sparks plugs, adding fuel injector cleaner, changing the gas station where I buy my HD suggested 91 octane. So far nothing has worked in fixing the problem. My last resort is take it back to the dealer for a general going over and let them work it out.

I'll try to keep you posted.

Well here's an update to my last post, after bringing my 06 Streetbob to the dealership it turns out they are as stumped as I was. After numerous attempts to troubleshoot the problem Harley has been unable to adequately come to a final conclusion to the problem. They’ve run extensive diagnostics on the bike in addition to replacing the ECM switch and changing the fuel injector system as per the Harley bulletin (sorry - not sure of the particular bulletin version) posted Feb 06. Unfortunately after all their efforts the problems still seem to be present in fact the engine continues to throw back a certain code indicating the problem remains. This has involved the technicians from Harley in Wisconsin to no avail. To compound the problem for Harley it does seems to be more pervasive then just the 06 Streetbob, in fact there is a 07 bike in there that has the same problem. I’m hoping Harley does the right thing and ultimately suggests replacing the bike all together in order to preserve this once very satisfied Harley owner.
